SBMS Board Members are elected based on their skills to support the governance of the organisation. They meet regularly throughout the year to make decisions about future directions and monitor performance of financial management, compliance, quality and risk.

Sam Muscat has over 31 years of experience in Human Resources, Industrial Relations and as a Business Service Manager with comprehensive expertise in all aspects of HR/IR, staff development, business services, dispute resolution, advocates, IR advisor, representation at Fair Work Australia & WorkCover Tribunal, change management, training and finance & business management as well as having had extensive community involvement. He is also a Registered Justice of the Peace and the President of the Australian American Association Victoria.

As a mentor, Barry has helped many business owners drive sustainable improvement in their businesses and capitalise on new opportunities. He has had an extensive career in retail management, working in senior roles for one of Australia's largest and most recognised retail brands selling on-trend fashion, homewares and general merchandise.

An experienced operator, Anne has worked across all aspects of running a small business, including establishment, sales, financials, marketing, customer service, networking and succession planning. She has excellent communication skills, a wide network of contacts and a broad outlook. Anne ran a travel business for more than 30 years, winning many awards and sitting on various business, education and not-for-profit boards including Kangan Institute of TAFE and Muscular Dystrophy Australia. As an active Rotary Club of Essendon member, she visited Myanmar many times and was named a Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow.
