When I signed up to the program, I was concerned about my mentor not having any knowledge of my industry, but this has turned out to be the great advantage.  As we progressed through the sessions Ross asking questions about how and why we did things a certain way and offering different ways of looking at problems has allowed me to make some major changes to the way in which we conduct business.  As our business is mobile, we have now changed to have all admin and business functions via the cloud, so we can invoice at the job site, and remote manage accounts, emails, and client files.  We are in the process of changing our procedures and terms of trading to better recover labour costs (we are a service business) and deliver better service by documenting procedures and expectations. The fresh insight to business procedures and functions has been very valuable.  I have been through plenty of different mentor type sessions over the years, most revolve around charging more, getting costs down and refusing to carry out some aspects of the work to improve the bottom line, when what is needed is to look at the business as Ross has done, and guide the business owner to their own conclusions. Just as every business is different the results are different, and not a “cookie cutter” approach.  I would highly recommend the program to any business that needs to innovate, and that after 14 years in business this has been the single best investment of my time to improve the outcomes of my business. Ian Corless, Zentec.com.au
