Alan founded and then operated a leading corporate events production business for more than 40 years. He established the business in 1975 following a redundancy and had meagre funds to start and build the business.
When he successfully sold it in 2016, Alan had 70 staff across four states.
Alan has acquired a wealth of knowledge about all aspects of building and operating a start-up or small business and understands the complexity of legislation and regulation in the marketplace today. The need to build and offer quality, the need to stay up to date with current technology and the need find customers in today's competitive environment. His expertise is extensive in all areas of sales, marketing, project management, finance, accounting, HR and IT.
“In the early days I made a lot of mistakes - but slowly I kept progressing forwards toward success,” he says. “Over those years I learnt a lot, and now my goal and my passion as a business mentor is to help other small business people overcome the road bumps that they will encounter as they move forward."
