Retail and Franchising Consultant - Business Coach and Mentor
Barry has had an extensive career in retail management working in senior roles for one of Australia's largest and most recognised retail brands selling on-trend fashion, homewares and general merchandise. Barry was responsible for a portfolio of retail stores generating annual revenue in excess of $160m and leading a team of over 900 people.
In 2012 Barry joined Top Juice in the role of General Manager. This family run food business included the retail store network, manufacturing, wholesale and distribution. Working with the founder, Barry positioned Top Juice at the forefront of the emerging healthy fast food sector, growing the retail business from 8 to 68 stores and achieving an eightfold increase in revenue and profit over his 5 year tenure. During this period, Barry implemented a successful franchising strategy, partnering with and supporting over 50 individual franchise business owners. Top Juice was recognised as one of Australia's top 10 fastest growing brands in BRW's 'Fast100 List' and Australia's top franchise brand in the SmartCompany 'Smart50 Awards' 2015.
Barry established Banro Retail Group (BRG) in 2017 providing consulting, advisory and support services to the retail industry with specialist expertise in the areas of retail operations, leasing, franchising and strategy. BRG is home to the FranchisePro® proprietary franchise development methodology created by Barry to help franchisors from all sectors build and grow sustainable franchise brands.
Barry has been coaching and developing executives and management teams throughout his career, and is now actively engaged in mentoring and coaching business owners and facilitating business owner advisory boards across Melbourne.
