Detailed CV:
David started his career as an engineer in 1971 with the Commonwealth Department of Works Head Office. After completing a Commonwealth Post Graduate Scholarship at the University of New South Wales in 1975, he worked as a Design/Construction Team Leader with the Commonwealth Department of Construction, before becoming a Construction Team Leader with the Reserve Bank Note Printing Work Project in Craigieburn from 1976-1982.
From 1982-1983, David participated in the Commonwealth Government’s Executive Development Scheme, before working for a software developer from 1984-1987. This was followed by a Project Manager role with a large Melbourne CBD shopping centre development from 1987-1992, where he managed a $238 million contract.
David then worked as the State Building Manager of a large home building company from 1992-1994, before taking the General Manager role at another home builder from 1995-1997. He served as Managing Director at that company from 1997-2016, and following a management buyout became a Non-Executive Director. David has also served on several Boards, including the Master Builders Association of Victoria, Master Builders Australia Board, the Building Practitioners Board and CoINVEST Board (Building Industry Long Service Leave Fund)
