John owns and operates a family business in property investment, management and development. He has also been employed in management consulting and as a professional non-executive director.
Detailed CV:
John started his post-university working life in retail sales and transitioned into a successful marketing and general management career of more than 35 years. He has broad marketing and senior executive management experience in medium and large local and international companies in Australia and the U.K. - including Kimberley-Clark, Unilever, Cadbury-Schweppes and Tattersall's - all focused on the production, marketing and distribution of consumer products and services. The management positions covered all areas of marketing and commercial operations from new product development through market research, retail and online sales and distribution, advertising and PR, plus legal and regulatory issues.
At various times John also managed business development, technology operations, Government, media and community relations in Australia and overseas. His corporate business career features substantial long-term experience in strategic and financial planning as a manager, non-executive director and consultant. He has also run his own business for more than 13 years and been involved in delivering formal mentoring programs for 12 years.
