FAQ

How do I book a Mentor?

Once I have completed the number of sessions applied for, am I able to have further sessions with my Mentor?

Yes. We have many clients that still seek the support of their Mentor after the program has finished. Mentors are there to help you for as long as you need their help. .

Will the Mentor I choose be the one that I will get?

Not necessarily, as volunteers our Mentors are sometimes quite committed and might not be able to take on your mentoring due to their busy schedule or unavailability. If this is the case, you will be matched with a Mentor that fits as closely as possible to your requirements and when the booking arrangement is being confirmed you will be asked if the change is acceptable.

Will I have a choice of Mentor?

Yes, you choose a Mentor by their business experience and skills. You will be given the names of those Mentors who best match your choice in the Mentor Directory tab. You can then read about them by clicking on their C.V.’s.

How long does it take from when I email the booking form to seeing the Mentor?

Assuming that payment has been made by the credit card option you should get a call from the Victorian Business Centre after a few working days and once the confirmation letter is emailed, your Mentor should be in contact with you within a further 3 days. Allow therefore 5 to 6 working days. If paying by Direct Bank Deposit or by Cheque you should allow a further 3 to 4 days.

How do I book to see a Mentor?

There are two methods. Either select the Mentor that you think is best suited to your business needs from the Mentor Directory tab or secondly go straight to the Find a Program tab where you will be able to choose the Mentor you want, fill in the online form and email your request immediately.

How many sessions should I have?

That is up to you. However our experience is that little long term benefit can be obtained in less than 4 sessions. The only exceptions to this is where there is a very specific problem that you want to discuss and that could be done in one session, or a start-up business idea that needs to be run past an experienced business person to determine its possible viability
